Risk Management in AI Assisted Clinical Documentation
Risk Management in AI Assisted Clinical Documentation has been approved by NBCC for NBCC credit. CCx-3 LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. NBCC Approval No. SP-5318.
An NBCC-approved live training for counselors and clinical supervisors covering documentation integrity, release control, privacy, supervision evidence, and clinical accountability in AI-assisted behavioral health workflows.

Program Description
Artificial intelligence is increasingly used in intake, note drafting, messaging, summarization, and documentation workflows. In behavioral health, the highest risk moment is not generation alone. The highest risk moment is release — when AI-assisted content becomes charted, signed, sent, billed, or relied upon in care.
This live training teaches counselors and counselor supervisors how to manage risk in AI-assisted clinical documentation through documentation integrity, privacy and confidentiality, red-line triggers, structured human review, escalation pathways, supervision evidence, and defensible release controls.
The program is counselor-first and practice-focused, with applications across mental health, substance use, co-occurring, crisis, telebehavioral, outpatient, inpatient, and integrated care settings.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Distinguish assistive AI from clinically operative functions in documentation workflows.
Apply legal and ethical rules to counselor-facing AI-assisted documentation practices.
Formulate escalation pathways for red-line and high-risk AI outputs.
Manage release control and supervision evidence for AI-assisted clinical records.
Distinguish independent review from passive rubber-stamping.
Apply fail-closed routing when reviewer authority is unclear.
